Welcome!

Hi all! My name is Harry Thavaganeshan, and this is my first blog. I am currently thinking about how I will probably be reading this in a few years and laughing at how I, an ex/semi-introverted career counselor, came to the point of writing my own blog (stay tuned for this story!). As of now I thought it would be a good idea to at least introduce myself to you all. So what better way than to recombine my LinkedIn bio and some personal info?!

So, I am currently a Masterstudent in Management, Entrepreneurship and Policy analysis (in the Health and Life sciences). I have done a Bachelor in both Interdisciplinary studies and Biomedical sciences, and what I learned from all of my experience is that I definitely do NOT want to end up in the health sciences, but that I DO want to pratice what I have learnt in other fields. I love efficiency and tackling challenges that others hate tackling. Sometimes I even catch myself losing on purpose in the first half in a game, just to feel the thrill of trying to overturn the tides of battle and win in the end.

I love acquiring new knowledge and applying it to help others, and I have done so since I was 6 years old already. It all started by me making CVs and application letters for some friends and family, and then slowly it turned into the habit of always wanting to help people. You could call me a people pleaser, but to be honest, I just love getting the best out of people and I cannot deny that. Therefore, I have started my quest to make 'guiding people' my job since 4 years ago.

Diversity, persistence, efficiency, accuracy and sobriety are what drive me. I love taking others with me in my success and I firmly believe that variety in a team will always contribute to a greater outcome of a project. Over 3 years ago I started a job tutoring children from suburbs in the Netherlands, and within 5 months I grew to the position of Route counselor (which happened simply because of one conversation with the manager). Since then I have had lots of opportunities to guide extremely talented children and adults towards a path that they would like to walk. It is exactly that type of guidance that I think I will talk about a lot within this blog. If you love getting the best out of yourself and reading succes stories of others from a coach's perspective, then you are at the right place :)

As for my other interests; they mainly go out to Strategy consultancy and Project management, and I strongly promote an interdisciplinary background. I take on any challenge that falls outside of my comfort zone. Over time I have I have grown proficient in making complex issues and theories easy to understand, and later in life I aspire to create opportunities for others to grow and become successful through an increase of self-knowledge.

My perfect end goal would be to start an academy that aids those who have lost their paths, or those that have never had a mission in life to find a mission and work towards it (which is ironic because I help myself reaching my end goal by helping others reach their goals; inception!). A good question would be why I am not doing so already, and that is simply because I lack the resources and connections. What I can say with confidence is however, that whether it is in 10 or 40 years, you WILL see me set up that academy.

So this marks the end of my blog. I am very sure that later I will look back at this blog and see many things that I would deem imperfect, but as of now I think this is a solid first try. I dont expect anyone to read this at the beginning, but if you are like me and you are the type that looks up the first video of a YouTuber after fame, then I hope you enjoyed reading this!

Take care and Never lose your focus ;)
